South Africa beat Ireland

South Africa beat Ireland by seven wickets (Duckworth/Lewis method) in the Super Eight match at Guyana on Tuesday.

Chasing a target of 160 from 35 overs, the Proteas scored 165 in 31.3 overs. Jacques Kallis remained unbeaten on 66 and Ashwell Prince made 47 not out. The two put on an unbeaten partnership of 80 runs.

Earlier, put in to bat, Ireland made 152 for eight. The match saw an over two-hour rain stoppage, following which it was reduced to a 35-over-a-side game. The winning target was revised according to the Duckworth/Lewis method.

Kallis was adjudged Man of the Match.
