Ireland beat Bangladesh

Ireland beat Bangladesh by 74 runs to register their first Super Eight victory at the Kensington Oval, Barbados on Sunday.

Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Ireland scored 243 for seven - their highest total in the World Cup.

William Porterfield top scored with 85 for the Irish. Masharafe Mortaza took two wickets, while four Irish batsmen were run out.

In reply, Bangladesh scored 169 in 41.2 overs. Mohammad Ashraful made 35. Boyd Rankin, Dave Langford-Smith, Wiliam McCallan and Trent Johnston took two wickets each.

Porterfield was adjudged the Man of the Match
